Nancy was a very devoted wife and mother to her son Andrew. Her love of reading, writing, and learning were an inspiration to her family and friends. Nancy was adventurous, enjoyed cooking and fine dining, and especially loved to travel abroad. She was always quite sophisticated, with a great sense of style in her writing, clothing, and humor. Nancy's students were expected to write a short story about something they had experienced each day. She especially loved reading and writing and was a stickler for perfect English. Upon moving to Washington, DC, she taught at the International School before moving to Brooklyn, NY. Nancy then moved to New Orleans, LA and taught at The Isadore Newman School. After moving to Charlottesville, VA, she taught in Appalachia, VA, and then McLean, VA. She was extremely positive and excited for each new day to begin inspiring her students and helping them to take on new challenges. Nancy taught in special education, gifted and talented, and regular classroom settings. She was the first special education teacher hired by the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit for the Center Area School District.

All followed with more classes working towards a Masters Degree. Titus RC Grade School and graduating from Center High School in 1974 and Slippery Rock University in 1978. She was born in Sewickley to her beloved parents, Stephen and Patricia (O'Connor) Crnkovich. Nancy was a resident of Brooklyn, NY, and formerly of Center Township, PA.
